What Non-Contact Boxing Training Does for You

Boxing isn’t just for the young or the athletic — non-contact boxing training is one of the most complete forms of exercise available for older adults. Footwork, pad work and coordination drills work your balance, strength and focus all at once, at a pace built entirely around you.

Every session is 1-on-1 with a coach who understands that training later in life looks different — no unsupervised sparring, no pressure, no one-size-fits-all programme. Just steady, sensible progress, however experienced or new to exercise you are.

How We Coach Our Senior Clients

Every programme starts with an honest look at your current fitness, mobility and confidence — not where you used to be, or where you think you should be. Your coach adjusts intensity session by session, so progress stays steady and sustainable, whether you’re training for the first time in years or staying ahead of age-related decline.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never exercised regularly — is it too late to start?

Not at all. Many of our senior clients are completely new to structured exercise. Your first session is about assessing where you’re starting from, not meeting any standard. Your coach builds your programme from there, at a pace that’s genuinely comfortable for you.

Is this safe if I have joint issues, high blood pressure, or other health conditions?

We ask that you check with your doctor before starting any new exercise programme, especially if you have an existing condition. Once you have the go-ahead, let your coach know about anything relevant — sessions are fully adaptable, non-contact, and your coach will work around your specific needs.

Is there any contact or sparring involved?

No. All training is non-contact — pad work, bag work and footwork drills with your coach. There is no sparring of any kind for our seniors’ training.

Do I have to stick with one coach?

No. You have access to all twelve coaches and can change based on your preference or simply to keep things varied. Some clients prefer consistency with one coach — either way works.

What is the cancellation policy?

Reschedules and cancellations are fine with at least 2 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 2 hours’ notice are unfortunately still billable. The monthly Hybrid Package can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice — no penalties, no lock-in.

What gear do I need?

Comfortable clothes and supportive, flat-soled shoes. You will need hand wraps — we sell them at the gym for R150. Boxing gloves are provided for your sessions. Nothing else is required to get started.

Are there contracts or memberships?

None. All packages are prepaid and there are no contracts or memberships. Pick a package, use it, and renew if you want to — or don’t. The Hybrid monthly subscription cancels with 30 days’ notice. That’s it.
