What age can my child start?
We welcome children from age 5. Our youngest group (5–7) focuses on fun movement, balance and coordination. From age 8 upwards, sessions become more structured and technically focused. We cater for children up to 15 years old in our kids programme.
Is it safe? Is there any contact or sparring?
Group classes are 100% non-contact — children hit pads and bags only, under close supervision. For children in private training who want to progress to technical boxing, supervised sparring is available for older children (typically 10+). All sparring is controlled, coach-managed and introduced gradually — only when the child is technically ready and the parent is comfortable. Safety is always the first priority.
Can I tell the coach what I want my child to focus on?
Absolutely — this is one of the key advantages of private training. Before sessions begin, the coach will discuss your goals for your child. Whether that’s fitness, weight management, discipline, bully-proofing, confidence or technical boxing, the programme is built around your brief and adjusted as your child progresses.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No. All equipment — gloves, hand wraps and pads — is supplied by the gym. Just bring your child in comfortable training clothes and a water bottle.
What is the difference between group classes and private training?
Group classes are small (under 12 children) and follow a structured curriculum covering boxing fundamentals, aerobics and conditioning — non-contact, social and fun. Private training is 1-on-1 with a coach, fully customised to your child’s goals and learning pace. Many families combine both with the Hybrid Package for the best of both worlds.
Is boxing good for children with ADHD or high energy levels?
Yes — boxing training is particularly effective for children who need a productive outlet for their energy. The structured, technique-focused nature requires concentration and discipline, while the physical intensity provides a healthy channel for excess energy. Many parents of children with ADHD have seen significant improvements in focus and behaviour.
Are there contracts or lock-in periods?
No contracts. Monthly packages run on a 30-day rolling basis. You can cancel with one month’s notice at any time. Prepaid session packs are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase and cannot be rolled over.
Where are you located and when do classes run?
We are based at 87 11th Street, Parkmore, Sandton — easily accessible from Rosebank, Morningside, Hyde Park, Bryanston and surrounding areas. Group classes run Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays). Private training is booked flexibly around your child’s schedule.
